About Texas LGD Association

 

The Texas LGD Association is a 501(c)(3) charitable, non-profit organization dedicated to the support, preservation, responsible promotion, and effective use of LGDs and their essential role in livestock production systems. The Association is committed to advancing science-based, ethical, and practical use of LGDs to improve predator management outcomes, animal welfare, and long-term sustainability for producers.

The Texas LGD Association supports and sponsors activities, including, but not limited to:

  • Educational newsletters and member communications
  • Producer and breeder directories and networking resources
  • Promotion of best management practices for LGD breeding, placement, bonding, and long-term retention
  • Data collection and information sharing related to LGD health, behavior, welfare, and effectiveness
  • Educational resources, archives, and reference materials available to members
  • Collaboration and support among producers, researchers, Extension personnel, and working-dog professionals
  • Field days, workshops, webinars, and outreach events highlighting LGDs as working livestock protection tools
  • Opportunities for informal gatherings and professional exchange among LGD owners and practitioners
  • Ongoing educational information focused on the practical, real-world application of livestock guardian dogs across diverse production environments
Texas Livestock Guardian Dog Association is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
We welcome donations to help promote the effective use of livestock guardian dogs in protecting the future of ranching for producers in Texas. Please email the association secretary if you donate to the organization and want a letter for your tax purposes.
